The Royal Coachman lodge offers luxury self-catering accommodation next to a 2.6ha dam well stocked with rainbow and brown trout (river fishing is also available on the property in the Little Caledon). The lodge is finished off with sandstone features and the interior is classically decorated with no expense spared! The lodge offers privacy as it is the only one on the dam and fly fishing is exclusive to the resident guests. No day fishermen are allowed therefore total privacy is ensured. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms (heated towel rails). A loft room can sleep a further 4 guests.

Accommodation
There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms (each with heated towel rails). A loft room can sleep a further 4 guests in two single beds and a ¾ sleeper couch (ideal for children). The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a built in braai on the wooden deck that takes you right to the water’s edge. For the winters there is under floor heating and open fireplaces in the lounge and main bedroom.
The main bedroom has a king size bed (or 2 singles if needed), an open fireplace and under tile heating with an ensuite bathroom which has a bath and separate shower facilities. The 2nd bedroom has two single beds next to each other as well as under tile heating. The 2nd bathroom has bath facilities. The upstairs loft room has 2 single beds and a ¾ sleeper couch. All rooms have overhead ceiling fans and hairdryers. All towels and linen provided.
Facilities
The kitchen is fully equipped and includes microwave, full oven and stove and fridge with separate freezer compartment. All crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, etc are provided. Kitchen cleaning materials provided. Appliances include; electric frying pan, kettle and toaster. Complimentary starter pack of coffee, sugar and tea provided as well as sherry during the cold winter months.
The open plan dining area has a square table that seats eight and under tile heating. The lounge has an open fireplace and under tile heating. There is a CD player, but no TV. All downstairs rooms open onto the wooden deck and have stunning views of the dam and surrounding mountains.
There is a built in braai and outside furniture seating 8 on the wooden deck. A small bar fridge on the deck offers extra cooling space. There is an undercover carport for 2 vehicles. The lodge is serviced once daily.
Fly Fishing
There is fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout in the 2.6ha dam. Catch and release is encouraged with barbless hooks. Float tubes are allowed. Please remember to bring your own fly fishing tackle. River fishing in the Little Caledon is available on the same farm but a short drive away. Wild rainbow and brown trout, catch and release only (river is closed during the winter months to allow time for breeding).
