75 Doppio Lane, Shiloh Estate, Hazyview, South Africa
Indlovu River Lodge is located on the banks of the Kuvjename' River in the heart of the 9000ha Karongwe Private Nature Reserve, home of the Big Five. From the unsurpassed peace of the chalet, from the cool oasis of your private pool, you will sit and be exhilarated by the timeless sights, sounds and sensations of Africa. Your child friendly, exclusive, self catering, luxury family home in the African bush. The three self-contained chalets stand tall and strong, as proud as the celebrated Kruger Park "great tusker" elephants after which they have been named. Shingwedzi, Shawu and Kambaku offer unique privacy.
Accommodation
Shingwedzi (sleeps 6)
This fine old gentleman of the wilds took his name from the Shingwedzi River and dominated this area of the Kruger Park for more than a decade. When he eventually died, age 55, he fell with such force that his weight drove the ivory shaft of his right tusk more than a metre into the soft earth.
The chalet that bears his name sleeps four in the main house in two fantastic en suite rooms. A further two people can be accommodated in a secluded annex across the court yard. Timber veranda and ideal plunge pool provide idyllic vantage points to survey the river while resting the mind, body and soul.
Shawu (sleeps 8)
His left tusk measured 105 - 317 cm from base to tip, the longest ever measured in the Kruger Park and the sixth longest measured in Africa.
The chalet that bears his name sleeps four in two double en-suite bedrooms and is attached to a hall incorporating a bar, dining room and lounge. Adjacent to the main building are another two double en-suite chalets - all forming part of Shawu. Guests can also make use of the on-site gym.
A boma, gazebo on the riverbank and private swimming pool ensures an unforgettable stay.
Kambaku (sleeps 9)
His name in the Tsonga language simply means "Great Bull". Kambaku inspired enduring respect and reverence among everybody who saw him. The chalet that bears his name is the largest of the three, sleeping nine people in three double rooms on the ground floor, and one further double and a single on the first floor.
Equipped with a beautiful large rock pool, a boma and a trampoline, Kambaku is an ideal family home.
Location
Both the Kruger Park and the Panorama Route are a mere 45 minutes away.

Karongwe Private Game Reserve Hoedspruit Kruger Surrounds Limpopo
Overlooking its own waterhole, set in rolling plains that abound with flora and fauna, Tshukudu Lodge allows the visitor a special glimpse of Africa as she was: untouched, unspoilt, unforgettable ... Tshukudu Lodge, "Place of the Rhino" in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, offers 6 luxury cottages and 2 cabins nestled on an isolated rocky outcrop in the heart of a 55 000 hectare, malaria free, wildlife paradise. Amazingly enough, this incredible wilderness experience is but a 2 hour drive from the concrete jungles of Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Direct flights are available from Cape Town, Hoedspruit and Johannesburg Airport to the Pilanesberg Airport.
Accommodation
Each of Tshukudu's luxury cottages are equipped with everything you could possible need from walking sticks to bubble bath. You will find a safety deposit box, mini bar, hairdryers, books and magazines as well as a tea and coffee facility. Slate floors and the thatched roof keep you cool in the hottest weather, and wood burning fires and hot water bottles keep you warm during cold winter nights.
To keep the pressures of the outside world remote, you won't find radios, television or telephones. Cell phone signal is very limited. Here the only sound is the wind whispering through the grass, perhaps the distinctive call of a lion, or a jackal's plaintive wail.
The sunken bath in the luxury cottages has its own private view of the waterhole. What a way to relax and forget the pressures of the city life and to soak in the sights and the sounds of the African bush.
Dining
Tshukudu's cuisines are not only out of Africa, it's out of this world. Each dish is lovingly prepared to 5 star standards. A full English brunch prepared to perfection at the end of an early morning game drive; high tea with a savory and sweet selection; sundowners under African skies; a splendid selection of wine provides the ultimate accompaniment to your five course dinner.
Overlooking its own waterhole, set in rolling plains that abound with flora and fauna, Tshukudu Lodge allows the visitor a special glimpse of Africa as she was: untouched, unspoilt, unforgettable.
Game Drives and Walks
A game drive or walk is a must. Our rangers share their intimate knowledge of animals and plants, answering questions and pointing out the wonders of the wild kingdom. Still, there are times when you might just like to take it easy, view the game as it visits the waterhole from the privacy of your own balcony or from the comfort of the Nest area. Or just relax in the sun around the sheltered rock pool.
