Penny’s Cottage
The cottage has two ‘sides’ adjoined by a kitchen in the middle and a bathroom on either side. One side has a larger room with a queen and two single beds and the other side has two rooms; one with a queen bed and the other with two singles.
Stargazer Adventure Campsite
All tents are provided with mattresses. The first tent is a roof top tent that can be unzipped to look at the night sky, it is mounted in a tree with a small deck around it. The second dome tent is on its own platform with seating. The third dome tent is right in the sand.
The communal kitchen and dining table is fully equipped and kitted for self catering.
Facilities
Establishment facilities include a swimming pool, braai area, conference facilities and secure parking. Guests are welcome to making use of the communal kitchen and dining table to suit their self-catering needs.
Facilities on-site include fly-fishing, fishing, bird watching and mountain biking.

Birdwatchers will be kept busy identifying the many different species endemic to the region, and those who enjoy hiking will encounter a variety of butterflies, small red duiker, vervet monkeys and the occasional bush pig whilst on the forest trails.
You are also welcome to bring your boats to the Resort. You will be able to utilize the slipway at the nearby Umlalazi Nature Reserve to launch into the estuary. Please note no jetski’s are allowed. Proper licensing and boat requirements are inspected.
Take a full day to take in some game viewing at the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve, about one and a half hours drive from the resort. Devote another day to visit St Lucia and take a trip up river to view hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles and other indigenous river dwellers.

Each room has its own cupboards for guests staying for a longer time, hairdryers and a safe for valuables. Our aim is to make guests as comfortable as possible.
For midweek stays should you only require one or two rooms and not the entire unit you are able to book this, the kitchen and living area are then communal (shared) areas.

We are approximately 1km from the local beach and nature reserve which offers a variety of activities for our visitors such as guided birding walks, barge trips along the lagoon, hiking trails and water sports. Whilst visiting the nature reserve keep a close eye out for our zebra, grey and red duiker, vervet monkeys and abundant bird life. The lodge is centrally located and just across the road is Raphia Shopping Centre which boasts a range of shops and the local doctor’s rooms. The Fat Cat Restaurant is opposite the lodge and offer fantastic meals, Twigs Coffee and Decor Shop is directly below the lodge and is also a must for our guests to visit.
Lavender Lane Wellness Centre is just a short drive from the lodge and they offer a range of beauty treatments and massages. They also produce their own essential oils, soaps and lotions and one can purchase these whilst visiting. There are a number of other restaurants in the village – all worth a visit and we have our local country club which offers golf, squash and tennis for our more active guests.
