Making the most of the West Coast setting, the menu includes a selection of seafood inspired cuisine. Sublime desserts such as the West Coast African Trio (Chocolate Truffels, Almond Vanilla Ice Cream served with an Espresso and Voorkamer Pot Still brandy) are a perfect sweet ending.

 

Spa

Elegant simplicity is also found in the Healing Earth Spa at Abalone House, which offers African inspired therapies and products in four calm treatment rooms. The Hatchery

Situated about 15 minutes drive from Mtunzini and set against a backdrop of a beautiful river and overlooking a nature reserve, island and deserted beach The Hatchery was originally a prawn breeding facility and it now makes for a unique destination for any visitor to the North Coast.The facility has been ‘lightly’ renovated - the end result is a unique blend of comfort and rustic cool. Penny’s Cottage
 
The cottage has two ‘sides’ adjoined by a kitchen in the middle and a bathroom on either side. One side has a larger room with a queen and two single beds and the other side has two rooms; one with a queen bed and the other with two singles.

Stargazer Adventure Campsite

All tents are provided with mattresses. The first tent is a roof top tent that can be unzipped to look at the night sky, it is mounted in a tree with a small deck around it. The second dome tent is on its own platform with seating. The third dome tent is right in the sand.

The communal kitchen and dining table is fully equipped and kitted for self catering.

Facilities


Establishment facilities include a swimming pool, braai area, conference facilities and secure parking. Guests are welcome to making use of the communal kitchen and dining table to suit their self-catering needs.

Facilities on-site include fly-fishing, fishing, bird watching and mountain biking.

You are also welcome to bring your boats to the Resort. You will be able to utilize the slipway at the nearby Umlalazi Nature Reserve to launch into the estuary. Please note no jetski’s are allowed. Proper licensing and boat requirements are inspected.

Take a full day to take in some game viewing at the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve, about one and a half hours drive from the resort. Devote another day to visit St Lucia and take a trip up river to view hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles and other indigenous river dwellers.

The upper level has 18 rooms overlooking the pool and indigenous garden. Individual braai’s are available for guest private use.

Breakfast & Dining

Full English buffet breakfasts are served from 07h00 - 09h30 daily. Dinners are served from 18h00 - 21h00 (on request only). Soft drinks are available for purchase at the Inn - no alcohol is sold at the Inn. Guests do however have easy access to all restaurants, bars and liquor stores within St Lucia.

Guests and groups accommodated at the Inn may also make use of the restaurant and bar facilities at the Elephant Lake Hotel
