About Arniston/Waenhuiskrans
Arniston is a tranquil fishing village approx 210 km’s from Cape Town, on the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa. The village of Kassiesbaai boasts iconic white washed, thatched roof fishermans’ cottages. The Arniston sank here in 1815, only 6 of the 378 passengers survived the disaster.
There are pristine white sandy beaches, dotted with rock pools to explore. Prehistoric fish traps made by the Khoisan strandlopers (beach walkers) still remain along the coastline. These stone built enclosures trap fish at high tide.
Waenhuiskrans means wagon house cave, big enough to house a wagon and oxen.
De Hoop and Die Mond reserves flank Arniston.

About McGregor
The charming well preserved mid 19th century village of McGregor with its quaint, thatched cottages at the foot of the Riviersonderend Mountains, offers outdoor activities, art and crafts, tranquility and relaxation. Surrounded by mountain trails, fruit orchards, olive groves and the vineyards which supply McGregor winery, the village has maintained a rural peaceful ambience inspirational to its artists.
The village lies at the end of the road from Robertson in the Western Cape. Yes, the road ends at McGregor. It was intended to continue the road to Greyton, on the other side of the Sonderend range but, alas, the money for the road was somehow "lost" so it actually ends up in the mountains.
Amongst its many charms are the beautifully maintained buildings, described in The Old Buildings of the Cape as the best preserved village in the Cape.
Mcgregor is a small village dating back to 1850 or thereabouts. Mcgregor residents are an eclectic, crowd consisting of artists, writers ,poets and other interesting people. There is always someone who can do what you need in the village. The village has a few excellent restaurants and pubs and there are beautiful walks in the Krans Nature Reserve as well as a lovely drive to the top of the mountain. For energetic folk there are mountain bike trails. At our info office why not spend some time delving into the history of McGregor and its people through our Heritage museum. Or take a self guided walk through the village. Ask for advice at the info office.

Accommodation
Kievits Kroon has 142 stylishly decorated rooms which are fully equipped with all modern facilities. The rooms are detached or semi-detached, and located in clusters around the estate, except for the Executive Suites, which are housed in a luxury two storey contemporary Cape Dutch building.
We offer secure parking close to all rooms, which are connected by landscaped pathways to the main hotel and conference buildings. A porter service is available on request to drop off and pick up your luggage on arrival and departure.
Signature VIP Suites
The two Signature VIP suites are detached Cape Dutch units with thatched roofs. The suites have all the luxury of a presidential suite, including a beautifully decorated, comfortable lounge area with a couch and chairs, coffee table, desk and television, a dining area with a table and chairs, and a sumptuous bathroom with double vanities, a separate toilet, shower and spa bath.
The spacious bedroom has a queen-size bed and its own television set, and opens onto a small private garden. It can be closed off from the lounge and dining area with sliding doors. The walls are decorated with original artworks, which are available for purchase. The units each have a sunny, north facing patio with a table and chairs, and views over the estate.
Junior Suites
Our five spacious, detached Junior suites offer the luxury of a comfortable lounge area with a couch and desk, a separate guest toilet, and sumptuous en-suite bathroom. The suites are ideal for the busy executive or couple seeking a romantic getaway.
The spacious suite has a king-size bed with the option to interchange to twin beds. The walls are decorated with original artworks, which are available for purchase. The units each have a patio with a table and chairs, and views over the estate.
Executive Suites
The 42 spacious Executive suites were added to the hotel in 2010, to house the referees of the World Cup Soccer tournament. Housed in a stylish double storey contemporary Cape Dutch building, the suites offer luxurious elegant interiors with a subtle mix of soft furnishings, ambient lighting, modern furniture and are decorated with a variety of artworks, which are available for purchase.
Each suite has a workstation, a comfortable daybed, a flat screen TV, a sumptuous bathroom and separate toilet. Ground floor suites open onto private garden patios through sliding doors, while the first-floor suites have balconies. The spacious bedroom has a king-size bed with the option to interchange to twin beds.
Superior Luxury Rooms
The three extremely spacious Superior Luxury Rooms form part of the original first room offering at Kievits Kroon dating back to 1997. Ideal for families situated near our Cultivar Fountain with lots of open space and a view of the estate.
Each room has a desk, a flat screen TV, a sumptuous ensuite full bathroom and amble build in cupboards ideal for long staying guest. It opens onto garden and a patio. The spacious bedroom has a king-size bed with the option to interchange to twin beds.
Luxury Rooms
Our seventy six spacious and beautifully adorned Luxury rooms feature rich wooden furniture, stylish soft furnishings, and full en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are grouped together on the western side of the estate, in groupings of 3 or 4 rooms per block, ideal solution for conferences or groups. The rooms are detached for privacy and have outdoor terraces where guests can enjoy their morning coffee or soak up the sun. The spacious bedroom has a king-size bed with the option to interchange to twin beds.
Standard Rooms
Our seven standard rooms feature Cape Dutch-style architecture and cool thatched interiors with wooden furniture and stylish soft furnishings. The rooms form part of the original first room offering at Kievits Kroon dating back to 1997, ideal for families situated near our Cultivar Fountain with lots of open space and a view of the estate at its manicured lawns. Universal Accessibility Rooms
Kievits Kroon has adapted two rooms for use by with universal acceptability needs.
Within the Executive suite building we offers a suite designed and adapted in line with Universal Acceptability requirements. This same suite also offers the use of an interleading bedroom ideal for families or to accommodate a care-giver.
In addition we offer a Superior Luxury room which has been designed and adapted in line with Universal Acceptability requirements.
Both rooms are spacious, ground floor rooms and are easily accessible. The bathrooms have been carefully designed to accommodate wheelchair-bound guests. The bedroom and suite has a king-size bed with the option to interchange to twin beds.

Kievits Kroon is situated in the Dinokeng area, which is the north-eastern quadrant of Gauteng province. Dinokeng, with its close proximity to Pretoria and Johannesburg, offers visitors a variety of exciting experiences, ranging from adrenalin activities, to game drives and a trip down a diamond mine.
Visit the Roodeplaat Dam Nature Reserve, Lesedi Cultural Village or Kruger House Museum or take a township tour. Enjoy game viewing on horseback, experience a shebeen tour, go mountain biking, hot air ballooning or micro-lighting, or play paint ball.
The quaint Victorian village of Cullinan - where the world's largest diamond was found - is a 20-minute drive away and features clusters of original miners' stone cottages, a turn-of-the-century station and authentic trading centre buildings. Cullinan has a number of small restaurants and offers mine tours.

Thaba Tsweni Lodge is a 3 star graded B&B with self catering option, offering Graskop accommodation for tourists and visitors of on the Panorama Route. This family owned and managed lodge, is well situated to many world famous tourist attractions such as The Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, the Three Rondawels, God’s Window and Pilgrims Rest. The Lodge is walking distance from the Berlin Waterfalls, 10km from Graskop and 30km from the town of Sabie with their many and varied, restaurants and curio shops.

Accommodation
The self catering chalets have their own gardens with barbeque facilities and secure undercover parking. Each fully equipped chalet includes either one or two bedrooms, a lounge with fireplace and satellite television to get our local network.
Each chalet has either a full dining room or dining area and a fully equipped kitchen including stove, microwave, coffee percolator and electric frying pan. All bathrooms have both shower and bath. Each chalet has a fireplace in the lounge with wood provided and the rooms all have their own oil heaters as the mountain air can get cool at night.
The fully equipped chalets means that all you need to bring is your clothes, food and beach towels the rest we supply and the chalets are serviced daily (On request due to COVID and social distancing protocols). Laundry service is available at a nominal fee. Airport transfers from Hoedspruit and Nelspruit will be arranged for you on request.

The Lodge is family orientated having a children’s playground, it is also nestled in a natural mountain setting with great views, and a farm style out of town appeal.
The environment offers guests great hiking, mountain biking, birding and scuba diving in a high altitude river, near the Lodge. The lodge is a NAUI dive facility, which can provide dive training from Open Water Diver to Dive Master Qualifications. Daily excursions and tours are conducted into the Blyde Canyon and Kruger Park, from the Lodge by our qualified and FGASA registered guide and diving Instructor.
The Blyde River Canyon area of Mpumalanga has great opportunities for adventure activities. There are many organizations in the immediate area that provide services for river rafting, rock climbing, trout fishing, hiking, birding, hot air ballooning, horse riding, quad biking, and 4x4 trails as well as many other activities. These activities can be arranged for you from the Lodge. There is also a great river to swim in, only walking distance from the Lodge.
Those travellers, who are interested in history, can visit the Museum of Man near Ohrigstad to experience Stone Age cultures. Shangana village near Hazyview gives one an introduction to life from the Iron Age and Pilgrims Rest and its Gold Panning Museum will interest those travellers interested in the 19th century white colonisation of South Africa.
